I’m very happy that I participated in the program YFU organized. In the beginning we had a orientation meeting in Ankara and Germany. During those 15 days they gave as the contact numbers of YFU members in case of an emergency. On the second day in Germany we met our host families. They welcomed us very friendly!

In the beginning I thought it was hard to adapt to the family but after a few days it was ok. Everyone was nice to me! I had the chance to eat traditional food and during the weekend we went to Cologne and Vienna we visited the Stephansdom – its similar to a cathedral. The style of the church really fascinated me, because the windows and walls were differently decorated. I’ve tried classical German Bretzeln and Berliner. Sometimes we had some misunderstandings because of cultural differences, but we could always solve them. I felt like a family member instead of a visitor.

I am really happy that I joined that program and luckily I am a YFU family member. I really recommend this program because it strengthens my self- confidence!”
